An Introduction to our Services

Middleton Elderly Aid is a charitable organization and also a Neighborhood Network scheme within Leeds City Council, for more information https://www.opforum.org.uk/activities-and-services/find-a-group-or-neighbourhood-network/. We aim to promote independence amongst the over 60s population in the Middleton and surrounding area through a range of activities and services. We are part of the community, working for the community, promoting security and safety in the home and tackling social isolation in our area. We are open Monday – Saturday for any advice and information you may need. Our other services include:

We run four lunch clubs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 9.30-1.0. We play bingo & hoy at our lunch clubs at 11.00 and serve lunch at 12.00.  Our lunch clubs are subsidized with grants from Leeds Community Foundation which means we can keep the cost to a minimum for our members.  A Two course lunch costs only £4.00.  Please book in advance. We also have a meal delivery service for our members who are cannot attend our centre. For more information please call on 01132721050.

Monday – Crafts Class in the morning and Dancersise Class in the afternoon.

Tuesdays – Baking Club, monthly Hearing aid clinic. In the afternoon we run a Line Dancing Class and our Arm in Arm Walking Group.

Wednesday Morning – Drop In Bacon Butty, Weigh in session, Fortnightly Textile and Painting Classes, fortnightly Bereavement Support Group, News cafe and various Information and Advice pop up Stalls. Monthly solicitors drop inn clinic and beauty session. Please contact us for dates.

Wednesday Afternoons – Monthly Live Entertainment, Film Club, Trips and our Memory Café.  Please contact us for dates.

Wednesday Evening – Pie & Peas evening fortnightly 5.00-7.00 with bingo and hoy. Please book your pie first.

Thursdays morning – FREE Ping Pong and in the afternoon we have our FREE Computer Class and our second Arm in Arm Walking Group.  Our in house Hairdresser Dawn who worked at Partners hairdressers is with us fortnightly on a  Thursday  9.30 – 1.00. Please book with us to avoid disappointment.

Friday morning – Games morning with FREE toast and refreshments followed by our Chair Based Exercise class is in the afternoon. We also have a Knit & Natter Group on friday

Saturday – Full cooked breakast for £3.00 in the morning 9.30-11.00.  In the afternoon we have plenty of bingo 12.00-3.00.  Also homemade sandwiches are made to order.

Our Gardening Group has been running for over 3 years now. The difference our Gardening Group have made to our own garden is amazing. We also grow flowers to sell on to our members. If you would like to join this activity you are more than welcome to come and potter about in our garden and poly tunnel any time and day of the week.

We have a drop inn legal clinic, a bereavement support group, hearing aid clinic, beauty sessions, hairdresser and information stands. Please contact us for dates on 01132721050

We have a wonderful team of Telephone Befrienders. Maureen, Brenda and Jane can call you weekly for a catch up if you like.

We sell sandwiches daily for the members to take home for their tea after they have had their 2 course meal at lunch time at a cost of just £1.00 each.

We book Annual Holidays every year in May and December.  We tend to  go away Monday to Friday.  Please look in our newsletter for details.

We are here to support people to live independent fulfilling lives by organizing activities and classes to bring people together. We also offer one to one support and advice and visit people in their homes.

All members will receive a birthday card and the ones who live in Middleton will receive a FREE lunch voucher.

We have a small staff team and a large volunteer team, without whom we could not operate without.
